First decide which size or sizes works best for your space. Also decide the orientation, horizontal or vertical. The following are the nominal (inside or glass) dimensions I can work with. The actual (overall) dimensions are approx 3" greater in either direction after including the width of the frame. Standard framing is either black or walnut. Other framing options are available.
36” x 48” = $800 - $1200
24” x 36” = $500 - $800
18” x 24 = $300 - $450
The bigger they are, the more dramatic they are. That said, it is common to utilize smaller sizes in groups to form triptychs etc, a large piece in the center with two smaller pieces on the sides.
Second – decide which “Style” you prefer. The “Freefall style” utilizes a variety of leaves supported on a small wire that is fastened through the back. It has a more whimsical feel and “captured in time” affect. The “Traditional style” utilizes a single species of leaf fastened to a branch.
Next choose the species of leaf you prefer (applies to Traditional style only). I like using larger leaves in the bigger pieces so the available species is limited: Big Leaf Maple/ Red Oak/ Sugar/Norway Maples/Sycamore Maples etc. Do you want the leaves brightly colored, modest colors or light brown - natural or black on white? Choose your frame. Commissions require a 50% deposit. I can ship ANY size piece to ANYWHERE in the continental United States.
